Background

Before starting The Evans Group in 2004, Jennifer worked at an international academy, with a French curriculum taught by teachers from Senegal.  During a dinner with one of her former colleagues a short time after branching off to focus on The Evans Group, her friend suggested she work with his village in Ngaye Mekhe, which had a large population of tailors and shoemakers.  Jennifer jumped at the opportunity, first visiting the village in 2005, and multiple times thereafter.  Each visit would bring her more clarity, and one step closer to a viable program for her clientele of independent designers, as she created sound systems and organization with the factory.
