Why Portland

Portland Oregon, also known as Bridgetown, PDX, or the City of Roses, is a unique West Coast city for fashion designers and clothing brands. The edgy West Coast brings a unique culture of sustainability into every sector, including fashion. Portland’s Fashion Week boast that very principle, “Keep Portland Pretty”, and “Sustainable, Inclusive, and Cutting edge”. It should be no surprise that some of the world’s leading eco-focused brands come out of Rip City.

Portland is Oregon’s most populated city. It’s nicknamed “Bridgetown” as it’s surrounded by the Columbia and Willamette rivers, with the year-around snow-capped Mount Hood cascaded eastward.. It’s known for its amazing parks, bridges and bicycle paths, as well as for its eco-progressivism and its microbreweries. The world renowned Washington Park attracts visitors from all over. Highlights include it’s Japanese Garden, Oregon Zoo, and railway. The city hosts thriving art, theater and music scenes.

Portland has quickly become one of the west coast’s premier locations for outdoor excursions and adventures, live music, and a quickly emerging indie fashion scene. Located in Oregon, Portland is the state’s largest city and hosts a unique blend of culture within its limits. The fashion industry in Portland has revolved around mostly independent and stand-out designers.

Given that Portland hosts a number of the west coast’s most innovative food, wine, and art festivals, it's no surprise that the same energy and mantra towards authenticity has been applied to the city’s underground yet chic fashion scene. The future of Portland fashion is an open book waiting to be written on by those passionate enough to think and design outside the box.
